ACT- Alliance for Compassion and Truth Held Rally Saturday, June 30th at the Courthouse
In solidarity with nationwide protests against the Trump Administration handling of asylum-seekers at the Mexican border, Clinton County residents held their own event in downtown Wilmington.
Rally participants were protesting the practice of separating children from their parents after taken in by Border Patrol agents. Although the administration says they’ve put an end to this policy thousands of families are still looking for loved ones, and children as young as infants have been placed in detention centers all over the country.
Children and adults of all ages held signs and waved at passing cars many whose drivers honked horns in solidarity and support for the protestors. The protestors marched down Main Street and through the Farmer’s Market and back to the Courthouse lawn. Several people signed up for the email list and stopped by the Voter Registration table.
